Lofty Valley Estate

Lofty Valley Estate is set on 32 acres of quite steep country in the Piccadilly Valley of the Adelaide Hills.

We focus on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Rosé and Sparkling. (Well, with the exception of one Shiraz parcel, for a possible future Sparkling…)

The climate is similar to Burgundy, as are the slopes — if anything, our hillside is a bit steeper.

Set in a valley, our site experiences quite a large daily temperature variation, which aids in flavour development for the finished product.

Brian Gilbert manages the vineyard and winery, while his wife Lani Ramsey is a fibre artist who works with wool and silk to produce beautiful garments for your enjoyment.

Our piece of paradise..

It began in 2004 as a new start for Brian, a medical doctor keen to make fine wine. The plot thickened in 2007 when Brian’s love Lani (a Canadian artist) arrived.

Piccadilly Valley, Adelaide Hills

We’re 20 minutes from Adelaide, between Summertown, Ashton and Uraidla, at 100 Collins Road, Ashton — when the road turns to dirt, you’ve almost arrived.

Cellar Door now open!

Our beautiful new Cellar Door is open Friday Saturday and Sunday(and Monday Public Holidays) from 12pm to 4pm. Visit our vineyards and taste our award-winning wines. Bookings recommended as these hours may vary due to vintage and winemaking as its all in the one  place and access is tricky sometimes!

A true boutique winery

The small size of our vineyard means production is limited to only 500 to 800 cases each year — boutique by anyone’s standards.
